Clip from the Wing & Rock Festival

The Wing & Rock Festival is a free weekend music & food festival featuring local wing restaurants along with great live entertainment offering something for everyone.  The festival attendance averages between 10,000 to 25,000 people a year and benefits various local charities with the Peachtree Events & Concessions (PEC) Outreach program. (www.GeorgiaPEC.com).

We really enjoy festivals because it allows us the opportunity to experience great food, art, and music, all in one place.  In June, we traveled out to Woodstock, Georgia, to support our friend, Brian Wiltsey at the Wing & Rock Fest.  Check out this clip of his performance.

If you enjoy what you hear, please support Brian's music!!!

What Makes A Good Band?

In order to start a band or group, it takes more than just talent. Recently, we spoke with The Well Reds, at Taproom Coffee in Atlanta, before their performance at the Kirkwood Spring Fling.  They refer to their band as not just a business but a "family".

The Well Reds have crafted a sophisticated alternative pop-rock sound that resonates in listeners' ears. Made up of Jeremy Ezell, Torin Degnats, and brothers Sean and Rex Crawford, the Atlanta-based quartet has become known for their infectious melodies and polished live performances, which landed the band a management deal with Moniker Music Group earlier this year.

(From BMI.com)
Broadcast Music Inc. will honor gospel leaders Israel Houghton, LaShun Pace and The Anointed Pace Sisters at the 16th annual Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards on Saturday, January 17, 2015.

Attended by gospel music’s premier songwriters, brightest stars and leading industry executives, the invitation-only event, part industry celebration and part awe-inspiring worship service, will also announce the Most Performed Gospel Song of the Year at the ceremony.

The event, previously held in Nashville, will be hosted at the Rialto Center for the Arts in Atlanta. “I’m thrilled to bring the fete to Atlanta this year and to honor these revered luminaries of gospel music,” said BMI Vice President, Writer-Publisher Relations, Atlanta, Catherine Brewton. “Atlanta has a rich musical history and it’s the perfect setting to laud Israel Houghton, LaShun Pace, and The Anointed Pace Sisters.”

59th Mayor of Atlanta, Kasim Reed

Atlanta’s Mayor, Kasim Reed, also greets the revelers with open arms:
“As mayor of the city of Atlanta, it is my pleasure to extend a warm welcome to BMI and the attendees of the 2015 Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards,” he said.

Israel Houghton
This year’s honorees are comprised of talents who are deeply rooted in the gospel genre. Israel Houghton, a prolific worship leader and singer-songwriter-producer, has been at the helm of his own music ministry for 22 years and has worked on more than 50 albums as an artist or producer. In 1995, he formed New Breed Ministries, giving way to Whisper it Loud and Way of the World, debut releases from 1997. Since then, Houghton has released 11 solo and group CDs and has reached consistent commercial success with Billboard chart toppers like New Season, Power of One and his most recent release, Jesus at the Center. Houghton has garnered countless accolades throughout his career, including five GRAMMY awards, 13 Dove awards, two Stellar awards and a Soul Train award.

The Anointed Pace Sisters’ storied career ranges from singing as children in local talent competitions in their native Georgia, to wowing audiences with their mellifluous harmonies on national television networks such as BET. Their debut release, U Know, climbed to number two on the Billboard Gospel Album chart and spawned the hit singles “When God is in the Building,” “Safety Zone” and “Be a Fence.” Shekinah Glory, as well as various accolades, including being inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame, multiple Stellar awards and a Soul Train Lady of Soul award. Collectively, LaShun Pace and The Anointed Pace Sisters have a discography and legacy worthy of celebration.
LaShun Pace
Their success laid the groundwork for group member and sister LaShun Pace to launch a successful solo career. Pace’s first album, He Lives, featured her opus “I Know I’ve Been Changed.” Several memorable albums followed.

BMI is proud to honor these towering talents and celebrate their legendary contributions.

Who is Tony Momrelle?

TONY MOMRELLE is an R&B soul singer/songwriter, one of the most exciting and significant musicians on the modern British stage.
Tony has toured with some of the greatest artists in the world, including Elton John, Gloria Estefan, Celine Dion, Janet Jackson, Sade, Gary Barlow, Andrea Bocelli, Gwen Stefani, Gabrielle, Robert Palmer, Beautiful South, Gospel music group SEVEN and many more!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAHlQ77lm10Tony's success in touring impressed the frontman of famous British Acid-Jazz band Incognito, Bluey Maunick, who offered him the job as the lead male vocalist. He has since travelled the world with Incognito on various stages for 10 years.

Before his stint in the world renowned Incognito, Tony was a solo recording artist, releasing two studio albums under his name.

http://www.soulbounce.com/soul/2013/09/fly_away_with_tony_momrelle/Music critics such as John Rockwell and Paul Morley consider Momrelle as the new Stevie Wonder of the 21st century, because of his similarity to the music legend's vocal vibe. While on tour with Incognito in Japan, Tony got a surprise phone call from Stevie Wonder himself, who said he loved his voice and was a fan of the band.
