UK's Tony Momrelle comes to Atlanta!!!

FROM THE THOUGHTS OF JERMAINE SAIN:
http://whenwespeaktv.buzznet.com/user/video/5554116/uk-singer-tony-momrelle-comes/
What I am slowly learning is that everything that we want may not always come in the package that we prefer!  I know you are probably wondering, “..what in the world is he talking about?” Well, here’s why I say that.

As a talk show host, I’m always having meetings about who I would like to have on When We Speak, how I can reach out to them, and who would be the best guest for the platform.  One particular evening I had a meeting about a particular artist and the team agreed that I should reach out.  This was perfect because this artist would be our first artist outside of the US.  But when I reached out to management, they declined my interview.  I remember being so torn and hurt.  It wasn’t like I hadn’t been turned down in the past but I really liked this artist’s music and thought they would be an awesome addition.  Eventually, I got over my heartbreak and once again continued to interview…….Then, one morning as I was reading emails I got a message about interviewing Tony Momrelle on the show.  Tony Momrelle is a British singer who lives in the UK!!!
Words can’t explain the amount of excitement that came over me… And when he and I meet it was SUPER, we had such a good time and Tony was so honest, open, and cool.  And he was indeed the perfect artist to make When We Speak officially international…..  So now I say again, “everything that we want may not always come in the package that we prefer.”

Who is Tony Momrelle?

TONY MOMRELLE is an R&B soul singer/songwriter, one of the most exciting and significant musicians on the modern British stage.
Tony has toured with some of the greatest artists in the world, including Elton John, Gloria Estefan, Celine Dion, Janet Jackson, Sade, Gary Barlow, Andrea Bocelli, Gwen Stefani, Gabrielle, Robert Palmer, Beautiful South, Gospel music group SEVEN and many more!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAHlQ77lm10Tony's success in touring impressed the frontman of famous British Acid-Jazz band Incognito, Bluey Maunick, who offered him the job as the lead male vocalist. He has since travelled the world with Incognito on various stages for 10 years.

Before his stint in the world renowned Incognito, Tony was a solo recording artist, releasing two studio albums under his name.

While on tour with Incognito in Japan, Tony got a surprise phone call from Stevie Wonder himself, who said he loved his voice and was a fan of the band.

Speaking With Tortured Soul

Words can not begin to tell you how I felt when Tortured Soul agreed to speak with me on When We Speak...I was excited and nervous, all at the same time.  The night prior to our interview I could not sleep at all because the anxiety was just too much!
But I made it through and Tortured Soul was so welcoming.  If you are not familiar with Tortured Soul, here's a little information:

Members (LtoR):  Jordan Scannella
                            Ethan White
                            John Christian Urich

(From www.torturedsoulmusic.com)- Tortured Soul’s origins date back to 2001 while Urich was steering Cooly’s Hot Box, an acid jazz outfit also featuring under-the-radar indie soul vocalist Angela Johnson. After putting Cooly’s Hot Box on hiatus, Urich composed “Might Do Something Wrong,” which was quickly picked up by New York-based deep house label Central Park Recordings, and Tortured Soul was born. Thanks to the cool laidback mix provided by Osunlade, the song quickly became an underground staple at the iconic Club Shelter and helped jumpstart the development of a full-length disc generating more soulful house. With the 12-inch single in heavy rotation in the New York club circuit, Urich went into overtime to restructure the band’s line-up: The session players on “Might Do Something Wrong” were out; bassist JasonJKrivKriveloff and slick, jazz-honed keyboardist Ethan White – formally Urich‘s bandmates in the rhythm section of NYC acid-jazz band Topaz – were in. Together, the new trio forged a new cool sound by blending the freewheeling New York house and classic disco beats with elements of hip-hop, salsa and Roy Ayers-styled jazz-fusion (Read more at www.torturedsoulmusic.com)
