Jae Franklin speaks Love and Self Love!!

Singer Jae Franklin sits down with When We Speak TV for a segment of What Do YOU Speak?
During the segment, Jae shares her thoughts on love, self love, and the death of her father.

MORE ABOUT JAE FRANKLIN
Dynamic songstress Jae Franklin is a citizen of the world. Her curiosity about the interconnectedness of people has led her to perform in over 20 countries from Ethiopia to Dubai. No stranger to pop stardom, Jae toured as a background vocalist for Grammy Award winner Melanie Fiona and eventually began performing at a host of reputable venues across the world as a solo artist. Franklin sure knows her stuff and now its time for her to get in the minds of the masses.

Jae was a 80s baby. She grew up in one of the most dynamic eras of music when R&B, house, electro, and hip hop increased in popularity.

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Jae’s father exposed her to the blues - the likes of B.B. King and Bobby “Blue” Bland, balanced out with greats like Shirley Caesar and Michael Jackson.
Jae also shared her mother’s love of contemporary pop and soul music, admiring the music of Whitney Houston, Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle, and Michael Bolton. Today, Jae is inspired by legends like Angelique Kidjo, Jamiroquai, Stevie Wonder, and Sade. It’s no wonder her music sounds the way it does.
Since 2010, Jae has given the world a taste of what’s next. Her voice can be heard on countless collaborations across the web. Her cover of Jamiroquai’s “Morning Glory” was praised by the British band and featured on their official Facebook page. Her collaborations and solo projects have been applauded by esteemed websites like VIBE, MOOVMNT, Sampleface, and Groovement. Her new single ‘Music & Love,’ premiered on reputable websites like Indie Shuffle and URB.
Franklin is well on her way to cementing herself among the soul and pop greats that have influenced her. Her new self-titled EP, “JAE FRANKLIN,” was released on Dec 8, 2017 and features production by Vicente Espi. “JAE FRANKLIN EP” features the lead singles, ‘Skeleton’ and ‘Fools Lane,’ Jae Franklin is set for an impressive year.

Tony Momrelle- "All I Need" Official Music Video

We absolutely adore the sound of British singer, Tony Momrelle.  He is a great vocalist and has also been on a guest on When We Speak!

Hailed as the ‘Stevie Wonder of the 21st century’ and one of the most significant musicians on the modern stage, Tony Momrelle is taking us into summer with his stunning new single ‘All I Need’. This track is a soulful and uplifting romantic song celebrating the power of love, to be released July 15th. The single package will includes stunning remixes of ‘All I Need’ by Reel People.

All I Need’ is an uplifting song about being down and out of love, but always believing there is light at the end of the tunnel once meeting that special someone.’

Tony Momrelle is set to support ‘Earth, Wind & Fire’ this summer in London, Bournemouth and Liverpool. For a man who never really set his sights on the music industry, Tony Momrelle is one of the UK’s hottest names on the British soul scene. Not only is he one of the most significant and exciting soulful singer songwriters in the country, he is respected for working with only the best in the business. Toured and recorded with Sade, fronted Incognito, Tony released his second single ‘This Could Be Us’ from his second album ‘Keep Pushing’ in February which made the Radio 2 playlist.

At 18 Tony was on a Youth Training scheme in the car industry to which singing was only really a side-line. Thankfully he took a detour and randomly ended up in a studio in Barnes to sing back up for Gloria Estefan. From that moment on Tony never looked back. Tony’s effortless, rich vocals have featured on tracks by amazing artists such as Whitney Houston, Sir Elton John, Gary Barlow, Celine Dion and Sade whom he has had a long standing relationship with since 2001.

Tony is an integral member of Sade’s band and featured heavily on her last album “Soldier of Love". As well as co-writing a song on her album” The Ultimate Collection” he sang a duet “Baby Father" which was Grammy™ nominated for Best Duet.

Sade On Tony Momrelle:
"THE WORLD IS DEFINITELY A BETTER PLACE WITH TONY MOMRELLE IN IT. FOR THE
FEELING HE CONJURES WHEN YOU HEAR HIM SING AND THE PERSON HE IS."

Currently Tony is fully focused on his own music and 2016 has already proved to be a very exciting time. His ‘Friday night is music night’ performance from Cheltenham Jazz Festival (live on Radio 2) received a fantastic reaction as well as his sell out solo show on the Sunday night. Tony is thrilled to be supporting the legendary Earth Wind & Fire across three dates this summer as well as releasing his emotional, uplifting new single All I Need’.

‘Making this record has been a journey of the soul. I wanted to have a record that people would connect with but more importantly a record that would uplift and encourage people. For this reason I entitled it Keep Pushing. The message being to keep moving forward despite what issues or troubles we may have in our lives’.

2016 Atlanta Jazz Festival: HYPNOTIC BRASS ENSEMBLE (@HypnoticBrass)

HYPNOTIC BRASS ENSEMBLE
The HYPNOTIC BRASS ENSEMBLE is a family band consisting of seven blood brothers who began their musical training at the tender ages of four and five by their father, jazz trumpeter/band leader Kelan Phil Cohran (EARTH, WIND, & FIRE, CHAKA KHAN, SUN RA). The boys went on to form the PHIL COHRAN YOUTH ENSEMBLE in 1990. The family toured the United States performing the complex original written jazz compositions of Cohran and other greats such as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and even the music of classical greats Bach & Beethoven. Although the group’s early musical training encompassed primarily elements of instrumental performance, the brothers were personally being exposed to the music of their own generation (hip-‐hop, rock, reggae to name a few) and absorbed these components into the cosmic jazz style of their father.

By 1999, the band of brothers discontinued playing with dad in order to find their own sound, growing into the band now known as HYPNOTICBRASS ENSEMBLE or HBE.
In 2001 HBE independently cut and released their first LP Satin (for which they received an American Author’s Award). Using street performance as way to broaden their audience and hone their now distinctive sound, they found success at the grass roots level, garnering over 50,000 in sales nationwide. It was around this time that Island DEF JAM offered Hypnotic Brass a feature collaboration with renowned producer NO ID (mentor to KANYE WEST & GHOSTFACE KILLAH) as well as an accompanying artist /in‐house band recording contract. The band decided to stay indie and moved to New York City and followed up their debut album with the release of their second LP Jupiter. The album caught the ear of BLUR lead DAMON ALBARN and led to distribution in the UK by Albarn’s imprint Honest Jons. By now the musical style of HYPNOTICBRASS ENSEMBLE “had blossomed and come into its own.” (Lily Koppel/New York Times)
The group’s sound was best put by Fader Magazine’s Edwin Stats who called the band’s music: “a huge brass bridge of hypnotic polyphony connecting the cosmic jazz of Sun Ra’s Arkestra with the urgency of hip-‐hop and the sweeping emotional scale of a Curtis Mayfield blaxploitation opus.” News of the ensemble’s sound spread throughout the industry, and after Emcee/actor Mos Def caught a live HBE show, the brothers were asked to join him onstage as part of the MOS DEF BIG BAND (including Robert Glasper, Chris Dave, Casey Benjamin). The group graced many stages around the globe including JAZZSTAGE at LINCOLN CENTER and SHEAPHERDSBUSH in London.
At the same time HYPNOTIC BRASS ENSEMBLE inked an outfitting deal with Dutch denim giant GSTAR RAW, and began their foray into international touring with a European tour that featured headlining performances at NORTH SEAJAZZ fest, BREAD & BUTTER BARCELONA, and the GOOD THE BAD THE QUEEN Victoria Park.
By 2008 HYPNOTIC BRASS ENSEMBLE had performed their original tunes in every corner of the world to audiences as big as 110,000 (GLASTONBURY. ROSKILDE) and premiered music at venues around the world including London’s RONNIE SCOTTS, Australia’s SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE and New York City’s CARNEGIE HALL. In 2009; following a tour in Lagos, Africa with Damon Albarn & Africa Express; HYPNOTIC BRASS ENSEMBLE recorded a full LP in London and released it under UK Honest Jon’s label. One of the songs on the album, “War,” became a featured song in the international blockbuster movie HUNGER GAMES. HBE signed on with The Agency Group for international touring and set out to blow away audiences at WOMAD AU: BIG CHILL: NOVARRA JAZZ: BERMUDA JAZZ FEST: PERCPAN in Brazil: POHODA in Czech Republic: COACHELLA: & many others.

The brothers were living in London when they recorded the Gorillaz record with Damon Albarn Welcome to Plastic Beach and joined the “Plastic Beach 2010 World Tour” upon its release performing alongside BOBBY WOMACK: MICK JONES from the CLASH: DE LA SOUL: & SNOOP DOGG. HYPNOTIC BRASS ENSEMBLE gave their signature dose of hard brass to every audience on the four-month international tour and earned a spot backing up PRINCE at the NEW POWER GENERATION FEST in Denmark the next year, coming personally requested by THE ARTIST himself. Since then HYPNOTIC BRASS ENSEMBLE has grown into an even newer sound with their latest efforts BulletProof Brass and Fly released by their very own imprint PHEELCO ENTERTAINMENT.
In 2015 Hypnotic Brass Ensemble signed with KOSSON TALENT to expand their US Touring. They are now gearing up to release a new installment entitled Bad Boys Of Jazz.
