Around late 2012 (early 2013), I was introduced to music of Pittsburgh native, Joy Ike. When I heard her sound, I was immediately a fan...... (See my blog about Joy Ike that I posted at that time, by clicking the pic below)
.....and now, almost a year later, I was afforded the opportunity to speak with the "SoulFolk" singer Joy Ike on When We Speak. So please take a moment to watch our interview with Joy Ike and continue to support great artists.
After interviewing Russell Gunn on When We Speak, I realized that he has so much knowledge about the music industry that I couldn't edit his interview down to only 15 minutes so here is a snippet from our interview that didn't make it to the interview but was very essential information.
Words cannot explain the amount of excitement that burst through
my body when I saw that MotownRecording Artist, Kem, had released his new

The other day I was delighted to run into my friend Rahbi while I sat working on some stuff for When We Speak at the Starbucks in Little Five Points! (Dang! I gave you the full location! lol)
Anyway...Rahbi and I talked for a few minutes and he informed me of his new song.... CHECK IT OUT!
Hey SPEAKERS!
I just wanted to take a moment to share with you that my friend and previous guest on When We Speak, is releasing a new song....IT'S RAHBI!!!!
One day I was in Target and I ran into a friend that I haven't seen in about 4 years.
When I ran into him I remember thinking to myself, he really looks good....Not saying that he didn't before but that he looks really in shape and stuff. Strangely I started to feel insecure because the last time I saw him, I was about 30lbs lighter and much more in shape. Ya'll I couldn't believe that running into a friend would make me feel inadequate...so I had to talk to some of my friends to bring me back around. In the process of talking to one of them on the phone, I looked down at my Electric Lady cd byJanelle Monae and thought.... "Janelle is so freaking pretty"!
What can I say about Russell Gunn?Hmm.. I
was pleased to have the opportunity to speak with him on When We Speak. I was slightly familiar with his artistry because
I’ve seen him perform with Julie Dexter a few times and I was aware that he
also did an album with Dionne Farris. However, I never knew that I would grow to admire him so much….to me he’s
a legend in his own right!
And of course, when speaking to a legend, everything that
comes out of their month is full of wisdom. That’s why it took me over two months to edit his interview.Mainly because I was trying to debate what …good
stuff was I going to remove! So what I
decided was to break the interview up into sections….so stay tuned for more video snippet
from my interview with Russell Gunn.
So please check out our interview with Russell Gunn! And purchase his music!
I say this all the time but I'm gonna say it again! The Anointed Pace Sisters are my favorite gospel group of all times and Lashun Pace is my favorite gospel singer of all times!
When We Speak is moving to Los Angeles! Yay! Well, not really, I love the ATL....but I did get a chance to speak with a Los Angeles based band while they were in Atlanta.
