As a child I always dreamed of being a "STAR" ….if that didn't happen, I always wanted to meet the people that I considered a “STAR”.
The definition of “star” in reference to the planets is: a natural luminous body visible in the sky especially at night. My definition of a “star” is similar when I think about people. My personal definition of a “star” is a person that illuminates through the darkest hours of night.
What that means is…. there are many people that are stars in my book that others may/may not consider a “star”. Often times these people have shined light into my life either through a song or a word spoken. This is one of the reasons why I enjoy holding the interviews on When We Speak because hopefully one day I’ll get a chance to meet each one of them and thank them for the “LIFE” that they have imparted into me. Some of my “stars” have encouraged me since I was a child and some after adulthood (some I personally know and some I don't) but they are still my personal “stars”.
I’ve been blessed to run across a few of my “stars” from my childhood since I’ve been in Atlanta but I still have more to meet and more to interview! (smile) I know that one day I will get that opportunity…
Back to why I wrote this blog……..
I want to encourage everyone to not only push for the stars but push to be a star. Push to be someone who’s light shines even in the darkest hour, whether it is your personality, your life, your music, your voice, the words you speak, or in the work that you do.
Often I think about the little boy in me that wanted to be a “star” and I say that I let him down but then I have to remind myself that my success is not based on views, sales, or worldly goods, but on my character. Therefore, from today forward I challenge you and myself to exhibit the star inside of us so that in the darkest hour of someone’s life, our light will shine through…..
…..just a little thought….I intended to write about something else but I hope this encourages your heart today!
God Bless

I love that way you give the new meaning of star. A star that gives hopes and inspiration.
